Three Milton residents were among 29 South Shore volunteers honored at Interfaith Social Services' Matti Lang Volunteer Hall of Fame induction on Aug. 4.

Regina Kennedy, Ardith Myers and James Norris joined inductees from six other communities at a Volunteer Appreciation Night held at the Quincy Sons of Italy. Inductees received certificates and leis at the ceremony. The hall of fame recognizes volunteers who have served Interfaith regularly for at least one year, and is named after Matti Lang, who gave decades of service to the organization's clients.

The 2026 class spans seven towns: Hingham, Hull, Milton, Norwell, Quincy, Scituate and Weymouth. Quincy led with 21 honorees.

Keohane Funeral Home received Interfaith's 2026 Community Partner of the Year award at the Aug. 4 ceremony. The funeral home's partnership with Interfaith stretches back multiple decades and includes launching the Plant.Grow.Share. program to supply the food pantry with fresh produce, organizing drives for the Bureau Drawer Thrift Shop, and sponsoring the Feed the Hungry Gala and Stop the Stigma 5K.

"Keohane has continually put our community first and are truly committed to making a meaningful difference," Paula Daniels, Interfaith's director of development, said in a statement.

More than 165 residents volunteer regularly with the Quincy-based nonprofit, filling roles that range from weekly food pantry and thrift shop shifts to board service and fundraising events.

Volunteer coordinator Melissa Lynott told attendees at the dinner that Interfaith faces ever-increasing demand for its programs and credited volunteers with going "above and beyond" to serve clients with compassion. Attendees enjoyed a dinner catered by Fasano's and a round of trivia.

Interfaith is recruiting volunteers for weekly shifts in the food pantry and Bureau Drawer Thrift Shop, and welcomes corporate and community groups for one-day opportunities. Details are available at interfaithsocialservices.org/volunteer.
