Milton and Canton voters can cast ballots starting Saturday, Oct. 17, 17 days before the Tuesday, Nov. 3, state election.

Early in-person voting runs through Friday, Oct. 30, in both towns. Two deadlines apply to every voter: register by Saturday, Oct. 24, and request a mail-in ballot by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27.

Milton early voting

Milton Town Clerk Susan M. Galvin announced that all early voting takes place at the Town Offices, 525 Canton Ave., in the Blute Conference Room.

Milton's day-by-day schedule:

  • Saturday, Oct. 17: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 19, through Thursday, Oct. 22: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 23: 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 24: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 26, through Thursday, Oct. 29: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 30: 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

No Sunday hours are scheduled.

The Town Clerk's office will be open until 5 p.m. on Oct. 24 for in-person voter registration, according to the town's election page.

On Election Day, polls open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters return to their usual precinct locations: Tucker School on Blue Hills Parkway (Precincts 1 and 10), Milton Senior Center on Walnut Street (Precincts 2, 4 and 4A), Cunningham Park Community Center on Edge Hill Road (Precincts 3 and 7), Cunningham School Gymnasium on Edge Hill Road (Precincts 6 and 8) and Copeland Field House at Milton High School on Gile Road (Precincts 5 and 9).

Mail-in ballots postmarked by Nov. 3 and received by 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, will be counted.

Canton early voting

Canton voters can cast early ballots at Canton Town Hall, 801 Washington St., which is handicap accessible. The Canton Town Clerk's office posted the early voting notice on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

The same registration and mail-ballot deadlines apply.

Canton voters should confirm their Election Day polling location. The Canton Select Board approved a change on Aug. 13, 2024, moving Precincts 4 and 5 to 1860 Washington St., the former site of St. Gerard's Church. Other precinct locations are Canton High School at 900 Washington St. (Precincts 1 and 6), Canton Senior Center at 500 Pleasant St. (Precincts 2 and 7) and Blue Hills Regional School at 800 Randolph St. (Precinct 3).

Voters in either town can register online or check their status through the Secretary of State's voter registration portal.
