Muffin House Cafe opened its seventh Massachusetts location Friday, Aug. 21, at 22 Washington St. in Canton's Cobb Corner neighborhood.

The family-owned bakery chain, founded by Sheldon and Josh Strasnick in 2014, took over a former Dunkin' space at the busy commercial intersection, Patch reported. The cafe specializes in handmade muffins, cakes, pastries, coffee and breakfast sandwiches. The Canton shop joins existing locations in Hopkinton, Medway, Mendon, Natick, Walpole and Westwood.

Opening day drew a crowd. A video posted to the cafe's Facebook page collected 73,000 views and 385 reactions. The business thanked its staff and the community for their support, patience and enthusiasm on what it called a busy first day. The cafe acknowledged it is still working out details as it settles into the new space.

The menu lists 23 muffin flavors at $4.65 each. Flavors include Banana Nut, Blueberry Banana Nut, Salted Caramel, Piña Colada, Morning Glory and Double Chocolate Chip. Breakfast sandwiches start at $8.49 for egg and cheese and top out at $11.99 for the Protein Power House. Bagels, lunch sandwiches, pastries, coffee, lattes and frozen drinks round out the offerings.

The Canton location is open seven days a week, 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the company's website.

The Strasnicks have grown Muffin House Cafe from a single shop to seven locations across eastern Massachusetts in 12 years. The Canton storefront at Cobb Corner, where Washington Street meets Pleasant Street, puts the chain in one of the town's busiest commercial corridors.

The cafe said on its Facebook page that it looks forward to serving its new Canton neighbors and continuing to fine-tune operations in the days ahead.
