The Milton Public Library will host a free workshop on preserving family papers, photographs and books on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.

The program will cover how to care for paper-based collections. Attendees will see examples from the library's own holdings showing ways to extend the life of family materials, according to a library Facebook post.

The Friends of the Milton Public Library are sponsoring the event. The group also backed a Genealogy Lab session at the library on Sept. 30 that taught residents how to use Ancestry.com and other resources to trace family history.

The library offered the same preservation workshop in April 2026, according to The Milton Scene.

The Milton Public Library is at 476 Canton Ave. Registration is required. Residents can sign up on the library's events page or call (617) 698-5757.
