Canton residents who use EBT or SUN Bucks cards can double their grocery money at the Canton Farmers Market every Sunday through mid-October, thanks to a SNAP Match program that adds up to $15 in free spending per visit.
The program works like this: shoppers visit the Market Tent at the front lawn of the Rodman Center/High School, 960 Washington St., and load SNAP tokens with their EBT card. The market then matches that purchase dollar-for-dollar, up to $15 per card per week, in free coupons good for any SNAP-eligible food sold by vendors.
A shopper who loads $10 in tokens walks away with $20 in purchasing power. Someone who loads $15 gets $30 to spend. Even a $20 load gets the full $15 match, for $35 total.
The market described the program on its food access page, noting that matching is available each Sunday while funding lasts.
No sign-up is required. Shoppers bring their EBT or SUN Bucks card to the Market Tent any Sunday the market is open, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Massachusetts families who received SUN Bucks, the federal summer grocery benefit for eligible school-age children, can use those cards at the market the same way.
SNAP tokens purchased with EBT funds do not expire and can be carried over to future Sundays. The match coupons, however, expire at the end of the 2026 season because they are tied to a specific seasonal funding source, according to the market's policy.
The Canton Farmers Market's 2026 season runs Sundays through Oct. 18, with one closure on Sept. 6 for Labor Day weekend. The market received local public funding through the Canton Cultural Council's 2025 grant cycle.
The Canton Helpline, a nonprofit that has partnered with the market in past seasons, also distributes Canton Farmers Market vouchers as part of its emergency services for residents facing food insecurity.
