Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton paid $240,000 for 100 Highland Street the week of Aug. 17, one of five Milton property transactions recorded that week, according to the Milton Scene, which cited Norfolk County Registry of Deeds records. Nasser Nabi was listed as the seller. The Registry of Deeds record lists the buyer as Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital.

Among the week's five sales, the Highland Street purchase was the lowest at $240,000; the highest was $2.9 million. The hospital did not state a specific purpose for the acquisition in public filings.

The purchase comes as BID Milton expands its Milton campus. The hospital opened its newly expanded Emergency Department on Thursday, Aug. 27, the Milton Times reported. That project nearly doubled the number of emergency beds and added more than 80 parking spaces. The hospital's Everyday Exceptional fundraising campaign raised more than $13 million against an $8 million goal to fund the work.

"The facility will allow us to care for more patients, strengthen clinical workflows, and provide an environment that better reflects the high-quality care delivered by our teams," BID Milton president Rich Fernandez said Thursday, Aug. 27, when the hospital announced the ED opening.

The week's largest sale was $2.9 million. John R. Nielsen, Nicole L. Nielsen and the Nielsen Family Trust sold to Katherine Waite through the Katherine Waite Revocable Trust. The Registry of Deeds listing did not include a street address for that property.

Two other sales involved the same seller. 485-487 BHP Trust LLC sold one property for $720,000 to Anne M. and Dennis Bowen and another for $725,000 to Sarah I. Gardner. The trust's name suggests a multi-unit building, though the deed records do not confirm whether the two transactions represent separate units at one address.

A fifth property sold for $900,000. Kathleen M. Hall and the Hall Realty Trust of 2006 sold to Joseph P. and Sarah Harrington.
