Early in-person voting for Milton's Tuesday, Sept. 1 State Primary opens Saturday, Aug. 22 at Town Hall, Town Clerk Susan M. Galvin announced. Voter registration closes the same day, meaning unregistered residents can register and cast a ballot in one trip.
Early voting runs through Friday, Aug. 28 in the Blute Conference Room at the Town Offices, 525 Canton Ave. The full schedule, according to the Milton Times:
- Saturday, Aug. 22: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Monday, Aug. 24: 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Tuesday, Aug. 25: 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Wednesday, Aug. 26: 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Thursday, Aug. 27: 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Friday, Aug. 28: 8:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
Friday's window closes at 1:30 p.m., hours earlier than the rest of the week.
Key deadlines
Voter registration: Saturday, Aug. 22. The Town Clerk's office will be open until 5 p.m. for in-person registration. Residents can also register online at sec.state.ma.us/OVR. Because registration closes the same day early voting begins, unregistered voters who visit Town Hall on Aug. 22 can handle both at once.
Vote-by-mail requests: Tuesday, Aug. 25 at 5 p.m. That deadline falls three days before early voting ends, so voters who miss it still have the option of voting in person through Aug. 28.
Election Day
Polls open Tuesday, Sept. 1 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at regular polling locations.
The primary includes the Norfolk 6th District State Representative race. A candidates forum for that seat aired Monday, Aug. 3 on Canton Community Television, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Sharon and Stoughton.
Canton shares the same Aug. 22 registration deadline for the primary, though that town's clerk office hours differ slightly.
