Milton Public Schools families and residents can weigh in on the district's equity work at a new series of monthly forums starting Monday, Oct. 26, at the Milton Public Library.
Jamele Adams, Milton Public Schools' director for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB), announced the DEIB LIT Community Connection Series in a posting on the MPS website. LIT stands for "love, inclusion & trust." The series follows a recent DEIB Open House the district held.
Adams said the meetings will provide sustained, open communication about DEIB work at Milton Public Schools and in the broader community.
Seven sessions are scheduled for the last Monday of each month, with no meeting in December:
- Oct. 26
- Nov. 30
- Jan. 25
- Feb. 22
- March 29
- April 26
- May 24
All meetings run 6 to 7:15 p.m. in the Keys Room of the Milton Public Library.
Each session will focus on a designated topic. The Oct. 26 opener will cover two items: establishing community agreements for the series and sharing updates on equity efforts across the district.
Residents can email suggestions or discussion topics to Adams at [email protected] ahead of the meetings.
