Milton boys soccer scored three goals Tuesday, Oct. 20, but couldn't hold off Braintree, finishing in a 3-3 tie at home.

The Wildcats had won four straight, outscoring opponents 12-4 during that stretch. Milton beat Stoughton 2-1 on Oct. 10, O'Bryant 3-1 on Oct. 12, Excel Academy Charter 3-1 on Oct. 13 and Walpole 4-1 on Oct. 15 before the Braintree draw, according to MaxPreps.

Coach M. Pasquale's squad now stands at 7-4-5 on the season with 28 goals scored and 17 allowed. Milton remains unbeaten at home this fall with a 4-0-3 record, though the Wildcats are 3-4-2 on the road.

The first meeting between the two teams went Braintree's way.

Milton lost 2-0 at Braintree on Sept. 29. The Oct. 20 rematch was listed as a non-league contest on MaxPreps, meaning Milton's Bay State Conference Herget division record holds at 1-1-1. The Wildcats sit fourth in the BSC Herget standings.

Milton's tournament positioning looks solid heading into the final stretch. The Wildcats rank No. 18 in the MIAA Division 2 boys soccer power rankings, which include scores entered as of 4 a.m. Oct. 20. The top 32 power-rated teams qualify for the state tournament. Teams ranked 33rd and below can qualify for a play-in game with a .500 or better record.

On MaxPreps, Milton also ranks No. 59 in Massachusetts and No. 8 in the MA South Division 2 grouping.

Four games remain on the regular-season schedule. Milton travels to Needham on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 4 p.m. The Wildcats then host Weymouth on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. before a Bay State Conference road trip to Walpole on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. Milton closes the regular season at home against Framingham on Monday, Nov. 2, at 4 p.m.
