An hours-long search at Fisherman’s Beach ended Saturday, Oct. 24, with no victim found after crews investigated an overturned kayak, according to Canton Firefighters IAFF Local 1580.
In a 5:33 p.m. update on X, the union said a witness had reported seeing someone on the kayak about two hours earlier. Canton firefighters deployed Boat 2, while the Massachusetts State Police Airwing assisted from above.
Dive teams from Massachusetts State Police and the environmental police also joined the operation.
At 9:01 p.m., the union announced that the search was ending. No victim had been found, divers were out of the water and responding units were preparing to leave.
The linked updates do not identify the kayak’s owner or establish whether the person reportedly seen aboard was accounted for.
