Canton's field hockey team shut out North Attleborough 6-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 22, extending its unbeaten start to 6-0 overall and 6-0 in the Hockomock League.

The Bulldogs have outscored opponents 38-1 through six games this season, according to MaxPreps. The lone goal allowed came in a 7-1 win at Mansfield on Sept. 16. Canton hosts Franklin on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 3:45 p.m.

Volleyball

Canton swept North Attleborough 3-0 on the road to improve to 4-2 overall and 4-2 in the Hockomock League. The Bulldogs bounced back from a five-set loss at Attleboro on Sept. 18.

Senior libero Soley Rodriguez Martinez, who became the first player in Canton volleyball history to reach 1,000 career digs earlier this month, earned HockomockSports.com Player of the Week honors for the week of Sept. 14-20. She tallied 56 digs and nine aces across three matches that week.

Head coach Pat Cawley said in the HockomockSports.com announcement that Rodriguez Martinez's talent and leadership give the team the ability to compete in every match.

Canton hosts Franklin on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 5:15 p.m.

Cross country

Canton split its dual meet against King Philip on Tuesday.

The girls team won 23-36, while the boys fell 23-33, according to the Boston Herald's roundup. In cross country scoring, the lower total wins.

Girls soccer

Canton earned a 1-1 draw at Mansfield, moving to 1-4-1 overall and 1-2-1 in league play. The Bulldogs visit Attleboro on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 4:30 p.m.

Boys soccer

Canton hosted Mansfield at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Bulldogs entered on a two-game winning streak, including a 2-1 win over Braintree on Sept. 19, and carried a 2-2-1 record. The final score was not available at publication. Canton's next scheduled game is against Attleboro on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m.
