Canton boys soccer earned a 1-0 home win over North Attleboro on Tuesday, Oct. 27, before falling 7-2 at Attleboro two days later.
The Bulldogs secured the shutout in Hockomock League play at Canton High School, according to HockomockSports’ game coverage.
Attleboro answered with seven goals in Thursday’s matchup, according to athletic director Mark Houle’s post on X.
The split came late in a challenging season for Canton, whose coach, Danny Erickson, reached a career milestone earlier this fall.
Erickson, who has led the program since 1993, earned his 300th victory in a 2-1 win over Attleboro, The Canton Citizen reported Oct. 2. Freshman Luis Garcia scored the winner late in that game, heading in a corner kick from junior Nate Rivera.
At the time, Erickson said consistency would be important as the Bulldogs worked toward returning to the MIAA tournament. Canton qualified last season after missing the playoffs the previous two years, according to the Citizen.
The North Attleboro victory gave the Bulldogs another shutout win, but Thursday’s defeat prevented them from building a winning streak.
